Welcome Parents and Teachers of Warren-Walker La Mesa!

Good Judgment

During the month of March, we will be focusing on using good judgment in our character education program. Using good judgment requires us to stop and think before we speak or act. In order to teach our children to use good judgment, we must empower them to make choices, while explaining to them the consequences of those decisions. More thoughts and ideas regarding this important character trait will be forthcoming.

Leaping Into Literature

Warren-Walker La Mesa will be offering a summer program to kids entering kindergarten, Junior kindergarten, and prekindergarten. The classes will be centered around a literature theme and explore different children’s books authors. Look for more information to come home soon in Tuesday folders.

Thank You

Warren-Walker La Mesa has so many wonderful and generous families. I would like to thank a few of them here for recent random acts of kindness. Thank you to the Cotton family (Max and Mason) for their donation of $1500 to the WWPA to go towards purchasing a new laminator! We appreciate your thoughtfulness!

Thank you to the Villanueva-Wright family (Ian) for making name badges with pictures for students, faculty and staff on all three Warren-Walker campuses. It is obvious that a lot of time went into these thoughtful gifts.

Thank you to Amy Biliunas (Alexandria and Olivia) and Maryann Paul (Catarina) for the delicious St. Patrick’s Day teacher’s lunch. The sandwiches, cookies and chips were fantastic!

Kindergarten Happenings

On Friday, March 14th, the kindergarten classes took part in a special event called “Japanese Experience Day.”Students made origami, cherry blossom trees and traditional Japanese foods including sushi. Dr. Taller, Andrew’s Dad, did a fantastic job showing the kids how sushi is prepared. A special thanks goes out to the teachers and parents who made this neat event happen. On Thursday, March 20, the kindergarten will take a trip over to the Middle School to participate in a Japanese Tea ceremony.

The WWPA Board and Committee Chairs are looking forward to another exciting school year. There are many WWPA events planned throughout the school year, so please mark your calendars. We encourage you to join in these functions. Events will be posted here on the WWPA web site, as well as sent home in the WW Newsletter.

Conversations with many parents here at Warren-Walker School only confirm beliefs on the importance of getting involved. There are many levels you can choose to participate. From Committee Chairs to Co-Chairs to volunteers. It’s a lot of fun and very rewarding and more important, it’s essential that our children see their parents in leadership rolls. Just one of many life lessons.

Please help make a difference and get involved. We are all looking forward to another awesome year at Warren-Walker School.

*Contributions for the WWPA web site can be emailed to the Website Manager or sent via school-mail to Peggy Sue Harrington.
